Hi, I’m Erika. Prior to launching Wagmi & Co in the spring of 2022, my husband Mark and I cared for dogs through DogVacay and Rover for almost 10 years. We live with our daughter Poppy and our lab Loki. Loki is our first baby. He used to go with us most places most of the time, but he’s older now and more comfortable staying home with his Lambchop. :)
About Me
I have always had animals in my life. I wouldn't know true happiness in life if it weren't for my dogs! I grew up with numerous cats, an Australian Shepherd, followed by a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, and a 110 lb Lab/Shepherd mix. Along with the bunnies, guinea pigs, birds, rat, mice, turtles, lizards, and a tarantula that made up our childhood menagerie!
I graduated from UC Berkeley where I originally enrolled as a Forestry major - I have always loved spending as much active time outdoors in nature whether it be hiking, camping, kayaking, swimming in the ocean (and now walking dogs!) ... I ran the Adventure 16 (A16) store in LA for years which was perfect for my love of adventure, retail, management, event hosting, and organization. Very happy to now be spending that extra time outdoors with our furry friends!

Get to Know Our M.O.
Every animal is different and every animal has different needs.
Our goal is to treat your animal as they are accustomed to being treated and according to your/their preference, this includes understanding their specific training and paying close attention to certain behaviors and idiosyncrasies.
Walks, quiet and cuddly visits, playtime. Whatever your needs are, we can do it.
We enjoy going at your pup's pace. Sniff every tree, why not! Or keep moving and we both get a workout!
Some cats like a lot of affection and companionship. Some are more independent and prefer a check-in and to be fed on time.
Drop in visits and sitting both involve lots of playtime, snuggling, and cuddling...if that’s what your furry friends like!
We are also well-acquainted with skittish/shy and opinionated animals. We can give plenty of space and calm and quiet care.
Our goal is to ensure everyone, animals and their people, feel good about the care they are getting.
We are animal owners and animal lovers. Your peace of mind when leaving your animals in our care is everything!
How It Works
We are happy to come walk your dog or care for your cat during the day while you're at work, on vacation, or even if you just need to work late.
Dog Care
We walk at your dog's pace, for exercise or just to stop and smell the roses. Walks are customized for their needs. If your dog just likes to mosey and sniff, that's what we do. If they need an active walk, we come prepared to get them some exercise! We also love to hike, so if that's something your dog likes, we’re happy to do that too! (*scheduled walk time will need to include commute time to/from trail)
Housesitting
For housesitting, our schedule is pretty flexible, but booking in advance is always preferred.
Most days consist of snuggling in the morning, a potty walk, breakfast, play, lunchtime potty walk, afternoon play, long walk, dinner and more play, rest, final potty walk then bed!
Let us know what your animal prefers to do. We are happy to adapt our day to make your bestie feel comfortable and stick to routines.
We take great care when visiting your home, walking the dogs, and with feeding and playtime. Safety and security are our top priorities.
We always prefer a meet and greet whenever possible, in person or virtual.
Scheduling
We have a pretty flexible schedule so can do drop-in visits or walks pretty much any time throughout the day.
When housesitting, Mark and/or I can be there as needed to keep your furry friends happy. (*we do not offer 24/7 care, but overnight is always included)
We want your dogs or cats to feel comfortable with us and for you to feel worry-free while you're away!
What we would like to know about your pet
We love to have a check in first to see what your animal's specific needs are. That way we know what behaviors to expect and how to ensure they feel comfortable and safe.
Routines, habits, favorite places to walk, best ways to approach if they are wary of strangers, neighborhood dogs they don't like, treats or no treats, ways they do and do not like to be pet, special commands etc. All helpful!
For walks/drop ins - this information can be shared by phone.
For housesitting - an in person or video call is preferred

Please note:
*Sitting is on a 24-hour window. After 24 hours, day care charges will apply, at the rate of $50 (1/2 day care) and $75 (full day care).
**Increased rates apply for holidays and holiday weekends (President's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) and for puppies that aren't yet housebroken!
***Administration of meds or additional medical care is $10 a day or more depending on level of care or on assessment of dog’s well being.
****Additional fee of $15/visit for drop-ins, walks and sittings outside of service area - Please inquire!
